Essential Functions
- Communicates safety and security policies procedures to students, staff and visitors.
- Maintains a positive campus climate by monitoring student behavior.
- Supervises lunchroom, classrooms with substitutes, detention, open areas, athletic events, and other events as needed.
- Aids students in complying with established guidelines and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Patrols school facilities for safety and security.
- Assists with the implementation of the school's emergency response plan.
- Prepares written materials for documentation and conveying information.
- Provides traffic and parking control.
- Refers incidents to appropriate site personnel.
- Responds to safety and security concerns.
- Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc.
Other Functions
- Supports and enhances campus culture.
- May assist or be assigned to other district campuses as needed.
- Attends district behavioral safety training for de-escalation strategies.

- Skills: Adhering to safety practices, operating standard office equipment, preparing and maintaining accurate records, understanding health standards and hazards, safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledge: Understanding written procedures, writing routine documents, speaking clearly, understanding multi-step written and oral instructions, understanding health standards and hazards, safety practices and procedures.
- Abilities: Scheduling activities, collating data, using basic, job-related equipment, adapting to changing work priorities, communicating with diverse groups, maintaining confidentiality, working as part of a team, setting priorities, working with frequent redirection of priorities and duties.
Responsibilities
- Working under direct supervision using standardized procedures.
- Providing information and/or advising others.
- Utilizing some resources from other work units as required.
Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, significant fine finger dexterity, 35% sitting, 50% walking, and 15% standing.
- Temperature Extremes: Some temperature extremes.
