Occupational Therapists at the Edmonds School District provide services to children aged 3 through 21 with physical disabilities, motor deficits, movement dysfunctions, and/or developmental delays that affect their learning in the educational environment. They collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Perform program planning for occupational therapy or appropriate options for each IEP
  • Provide treatment and management of disabilities based on evaluations, which may include direct and/or indirect therapy services
  • Offer consultation and education on formal and informal levels with medical and educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding educational programming and disability information
  • Administer occupational therapy services within the educational environment (documentation, record-keeping, equipment, space requirements, supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants)
  • Monitor the proper fit, use, and adjustment of specialized equipment
  • Conduct research and evaluation for school occupational therapy services

Requirements

  • A valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate as an Occupational Therapist
  • A Washington State Occupational Therapist license

Qualifications

Pay

Salary 2025-26 Salary Schedule Range: $83,305 through $148,226 (2026-27 Salary Schedule not yet finalized). Placement on this salary schedule is determined by FTE and official documentation verifying Educational Level and Certificated Work Experience and will be prorated for less than a full year and/or FTE.
