2026-27 MERCHANDISE INTERN - IN-SEASON

An in-season opportunity to build real-world skills in the fast-paced ECHL environment while working alongside the Atlanta Gladiators Front Office both in the office and at community events.

About the role

Merchandise Interns will gain hands-on experience in sports retail operations, assisting with gameday store management, inventory control, and online sales through Shopify.

Timeline: August through April (or the completion of the Gladiators season).

Responsibilities

• Attend all Atlanta Gladiators home games.
• Gameday duties:
  • Set up and break down the Team Store.
  • Operate the Point-of-Sale system to check out customers.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and answer fan questions.
  • Restock merchandise and maintain store shelves during games.
• In-office duties:
  • Attend weekly office hours to deepen merchandising experience.
  • Receive and log new inventory into Shopify.
  • Pick, pack, and ship online orders via Shopify.
  • Create and manage online DASH auctions.
  • Participate in scheduled inventory maintenance at the arena.
  • Observe merchandise ordering and reporting workflows.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Able to work every remaining home game, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a four-year college degree or graduate degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field.
• Local housing and reliable transportation in the Atlanta/Duluth area.
• Genuine interest in retail sales and operations, especially within the sports industry.
• Strong organizational skills and clear oral/written communication.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Sports-industry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Shopify is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking.

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship; academic credit may be arranged for those who require it.
