2026-27 Lecturer Pool - Project Management Program (For-Credit Extension)

About the Position

The College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE) at Cal State LA is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-2027 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester. The Project Management Program (PMP) part-time faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on a short notice. PMP part-time lecturers serve as an instructor and teach assigned courses in the College of Professional and Global Education for-credit program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Appropriate degree from an accredited university (for upper division undergraduate courses—master's degree; for graduate courses—doctoral degree, or master's degree and substantial teaching experience).
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level.
• Three to five years of industry-relevant work experience and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.
• Demonstrated best practice teaching adult learners and career transitioners returning to a post-secondary educational setting.
• Prioritized instructor experience providing career-engaged, culturally sustaining curriculum, and applied learning in a variety of modalities.
• Demonstrated experience teaching online using the Quality Matters (QM) rubric.
• Demonstrated experience incorporating high-impact practices, current economic outlook within academic discipline, civic purpose, and opportunities for interdisciplinary research.
• Ability to relate well to others within the academic environment and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
• Relevant work experience and training.

Duties

• Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours.
• Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
• Course assignments, including dates, time, and modality, are made under the direction of the College Dean.
• Prepare and deliver course materials aligned with program learning objectives and current industry practices.
• Design assessments and engaging learning activities that support student learning and the development of practical project management skills.
• Update course content periodically to reflect evolving PMP practices, technologies, and program feedback.
• Communicate course expectations, learning objectives, and grading policies clearly to students.
• Respond to student questions and learning needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Employ inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices that support diverse learners, including students with documented accommodations.
• Incorporate practical PMP examples, case materials, or professional scenarios to help students understand how PMP concepts are applied in real-world practice.
• Evaluate student performance and assign grades based on established learning outcomes.
• Submit final grades within University timelines and address student inquiries regarding course evaluation as needed.
• Maintain student records in accordance with University policies.
• Maintain course materials, assessments, and instructional practices consistent with program standards and recognized guidelines for project management education.

Salary

Initial Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary schedule information for the faculty lecturer (Academic Year-month Classification) is available based on the following ranges (per salary schedule 7/1/2024):

• Lecturer A/2 Salary Per Unit Range: $117 - $1,792
• Lecturer B/3 Salary Per Unit Range: $117 - $1,957
• Lecturer C/4 Salary Per Unit Range: $117 - $2,477
• Lecturer D/5 Salary Per Unit Range: $117 - $2,477

The anticipated hiring range is based on rank and student enrollment at census date. Most new faculty lecturers are hired at the Lecturer C rank.

• List of CSU courses previously taught, and/or courses or topics areas qualified for and requesting careful consideration to teach in the upcoming academic year.

• Unofficial transcripts.
• Copy of Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate.

Official Transcripts will be required upon hire offer and prior to employment. Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States. A United States (US) Equivalency certification is required for earned/awarded/conferred foreign terminal degrees. The US Equivalency certification is used to validate foreign studies by an academic credential evaluation agency and is evaluated on foreign studies and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from the United States. The certification must translate the information in English, and confirm that your highest terminal degree is US Equivalent to a US terminal degree (i.e., Master's, Doctorate's, Doctor's of Philosophy).
