About the Role

The Department of Management and Marketing at CSU Bakersfield seeks part-time lecturers for temporary assignments. Appointments may range from one day to a full semester and are filled on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications for this pool are valid only for the 2026-27 academic year and will close on May 31st.

Requirements

  • MBA or related graduate degree in the relevant field, or
  • Bachelor’s degree and significant professional experience in the relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or related graduate degree in the relevant field
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly with a diverse, undergraduate student body

Pay

Salary is dependent on educational preparation and experience, with appointments subject to budgetary authorization. The salary ranges for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification are:

  • Lecturer AY (Range 2): $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer AY (Range 3): $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer AY (Range 4): $6,825 - $14,523
  • Lecturer AY (Range 5): $8,593 - $15,211

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Salary will be pro-rated for part-time assignments.
