Department: R&D Warehouse
Work hours: 7.5 hours per day – 37.5 hours per work week
Contract length: 236 days
CDL preferred (ability to operate existing R&D Fleet)
About the role
To store and distribute a wide variety of supplies and equipment and maintain records of all capital equipment for the District. Duties include receiving items, checking requests for conformance with procedures, stocking, loading, and delivering goods to all District schools and locations, up to 150 miles from the central warehouse. Further duties involve using mechanized moving equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts, and using judgment and resourcefulness to tailor guidelines for particular circumstances or emergencies. Performs a variety of clerical duties including data entry and maintenance of warehouse files and records.
Responsibilities
- Receive, check, and stock items in accordance with procedures
- Load and deliver goods to District schools and locations (up to 150 miles from the central warehouse)
- Operate mechanized moving equipment (e.g., electric pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Apply judgment and resourcefulness to adapt guidelines for emergencies or unique situations
- Perform clerical duties, including data entry and maintenance of warehouse files and records
- Verify logs and data for accuracy while multitasking
- Drive routes of up to 300 miles round trip
Requirements
- Knowledge of inventory/stock control practices and shipping/receiving procedures
- Basic understanding of office and warehouse methods, procedures, and equipment
- Proficiency in English usage, spelling, grammar, and basic mathematics
- Ability to work with employees at all levels across various school sites and departments
- Basic computer skills (email, MS Word, Excel, and similar programs)
- Capability to make independent judgments/decisions based on written guidance
- Capacity to learn new software and procedures as needed
- Two years of warehouse or inventory control experience, including experience working with the public
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current, valid New Mexico State driver’s license with a clean driving record
- CDL Class B endorsement preferred or ability to obtain it
Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, lifting, and moving about the workplace
- Carrying items up to 50 pounds
- Reaching, squatting, kneeling, and prolonged typing
- Physical ability to operate a keyboard and move light furniture
Work Environment
- Ability to work in varying noise levels, temperatures, and air quality conditions
- Routine interruptions; flexibility and patience required
- Self-motivated with the ability to complete job assignments without direct supervision
- After-hours work may be required
Equipment/Technology Handled
- Must know how to operate or be willing to learn multimedia equipment, including current technology
Pay
Support Services (CBA) Salary Schedule: $33,881.00 – $40,934.00
