The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a full-time teacher for multiple sites, including Northridge and Mariposa.

About the role

This position is open until filled and accepting applications. The position is screened weekly for applicants. Applications should be submitted no later than midnight on Sundays to be considered for the week. The salary range for fully credentialed staff is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. Additional pay includes $5,000 - $14,000 annual stipends for hard-to-staff Special Education positions, $2,000 annual stipends for counselor, social worker, and teacher librarian positions, $3,000 annual stipend for advanced degrees, and $1,000 - $4,500 annual stipends for various extra-curricular activities, and $1,500 - $6,000 annual stipends for various leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core academic subjects to students in grades K-8
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Maintain classroom management and discipline
  • Follow district policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Valid California teaching credential
  • Experience teaching in K-8 classrooms
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents/guardians
  • Passing scores on relevant subject matter examinations

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education or related field
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of current educational research and best practices
