About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching deaf students in grades K-12 within Robertson County Schools. This position requires a certified special education teacher with expertise in working with deaf students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Tennessee State Standards
  • Provide individualized instruction to meet the diverse needs of deaf students
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Current teaching certification in Special Education, with endorsement in Deaf Education
  • Experience working with deaf students preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sign language and deaf culture
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
  • Experience with assistive technology and resources for deaf students

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
