About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching deaf students in grades K-12 within Robertson County Schools. This position requires a certified special education teacher with expertise in working with deaf students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Tennessee State Standards
- Provide individualized instruction to meet the diverse needs of deaf students
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate records and report on student progress
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Current teaching certification in Special Education, with endorsement in Deaf Education
- Experience working with deaf students preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Qualifications
- Knowledge of sign language and deaf culture
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
- Experience with assistive technology and resources for deaf students
