**2026/2027** School Year 9/12th French Teacher 1.0 FTE at Rio Americano (PC #1534 / Job ID:8076) ***$60,000 - $126,000/annually***

The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a French 1, 2, 3, 4, or AP French teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Teach French language and culture to students in grades 6-12
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Moderate and grade student work
• Participate in department meetings and collaborate with colleagues
• Assist in extracurricular activities related to French language and culture

Requirements

• Valid California teaching credential in French
• Experience teaching French at the high school level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in French or related field preferred
• Knowledge of AP French curriculum and exam preparation

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
• Ability to effectively manage classroom and student behavior
• Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes

Note: Candidates must be internal employees to be placed on Column 5; for external candidates, Column 4 is the maximum incoming placement.

• $5,000 - $14,000 annual stipends for hard-to-staff Special Education positions
• $2,000 annual stipends for the hard-to-staff positions of counselor, social worker, and teacher librarian
• $3,000 annual stipend for advanced degrees
• $1,000 - $4,500 annual stipends for various extra-curricular activities
• $1,500 - $6,000 annual stipends for various "leadership" roles

Benefits included for teachers and counselors/teacher librarians:

• Length of work year: Calendar 2 (10 Months/Year, 186 Days/Year, 5 Days/Week, Professional Work Day)
• Length of work day: Professional Work Day
