About the Role

Secondary Teacher – Physical Education at Sunrise Mountain High School.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in physical education.
• Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide appropriate feedback on work and encourage student progress.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and on school premises, applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehavior.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
• Stay current with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Nevada teaching license with an endorsement in Physical Education (K-12) or the ability to obtain one.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current physical education instructional methods and curriculum standards.
• Experience teaching physical education at the secondary level preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet all district employment requirements.
