About the Role

This is a full-time, day-position secondary school counselor role at Liberty High School.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, career, and personal/social counseling to secondary students.
• Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs aligned with district and state standards.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Assist students with college and career planning, including college applications, scholarships, and career exploration.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address student needs.
• Interpret student records, assessments, and other data to guide counseling interventions.
• Coordinate and facilitate student interventions, including crisis response and conflict resolution.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives, committees, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field.
• Valid Nevada Department of Education license with a School Counselor endorsement (or eligibility for licensure).
• Experience in school counseling or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices for secondary students.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, staff, and families.
• Familiarity with Nevada Academic Content Standards and college/career readiness initiatives.
