About the role

Elementary School Teacher responsible for delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student progress, and creating a positive learning environment for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments; provide timely feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement instructional strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student data as required by district policies.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other assigned duties.
  • Integrate technology and other instructional resources to enhance student learning.

Requirements

  • Valid Nevada teaching license with an elementary endorsement (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of elementary curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all district hiring requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse student populations in an urban school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
