About the role
Elementary School Teacher responsible for delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student progress, and creating a positive learning environment for diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments; provide timely feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners.
- Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement instructional strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student data as required by district policies.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other assigned duties.
- Integrate technology and other instructional resources to enhance student learning.
Requirements
- Valid Nevada teaching license with an elementary endorsement (or eligibility for licensure).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all district hiring requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse student populations in an urban school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
