About the role

The Special Education Generalist Self-Contained position at Region One is responsible for providing instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. This role requires a deep understanding of special education principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and abilities.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning and development.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education best practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching certificate in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using technology to support student learning.
