About the role

The Federal Work Study Program provides financial aid through part‑time employment for students with documented financial need, supplementing existing aid and expanding campus job opportunities. The Lloyd College of Health, Science, and Technology focuses on educational programs and services that promote excellence in teaching and innovative scholarship in health, life, and natural sciences.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and managing the office front desk
• Receiving and filing office supplies and equipment
• Copying and printing
• Running errands
• Assisting with set‑up, hosting, and breakdown of college and department events
• Managing college and department social media accounts
• Assisting laboratory managers in preparing teaching labs
• Working one‑on‑one with faculty on research projects
• Serving as a Prototyping Lab Assistant – designing, building, and developing educational tools and exhibits (on‑the‑job training)

Requirements

• Friendly, punctual, self‑starter, communicative
• Basic/advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and social media/technology
• Preferably junior or senior, dependable, organized, willing to learn
• Previous research experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn and make mistakes; very hands‑on

Qualifications

• Must qualify and receive a Federal Work Study award from the FSU Financial Aid Office
• Relevant majors include Biology, Forensic Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Nursing; Biology or Forensic Sciences; STEM or Education

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud
• Social media and technology savvy
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to hands‑on tasks

Pay

$13.00 per hour

Schedule

Full‑time; position types include hybrid (in‑person + remote) and in‑person roles.
