2026-2027 Extended Day Teacher (After School Program)

About the Role

Franklin Road Academy's after-school program serves students in grades Pre-K3 through middle school. We are looking for reliable, motivated, friendly people who are enthusiastic about working with children. This job provides invaluable experience for those committed to working with children long-term (e.g., future educators, counselors, social workers, physical education professionals) and is also a great opportunity for those pursuing a Master's degree.

Schedule

Part-time, daily work during the school year from 2:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. (flexible hours—possible to leave at 5 p.m. or only work several days a week).

Requirements

• Previous experience working with or supervising groups of children in settings such as camp, classroom, etc.
• Current college or graduate students, or a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with children on their level.
• Assist children with homework.
• Supervise indoor and outdoor games.
• Plan appropriate and meaningful activities for students.
• Maintain a classroom environment.
• Effectively implement school mission and guidelines.
