Location: Perkins, Claude Elementary School – North Las Vegas

About the role

This is a full-time, day position for a Special Education Generalist in a self-contained classroom setting within Region One of the Clark County School District.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom environment.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each assigned student.
• Adapt and modify general education curriculum to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to support academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
• Conduct assessments and collect data to track student progress and inform instructional decisions.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
• Comply with federal, state, and district policies and procedures related to special education.

Requirements

• Valid Nevada Department of Education license with a Special Education endorsement (or ability to obtain one).
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained or similar setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, families, and staff.
