About the role

The Special Education Generalist Self-Contained position at Lake, Robert E. ES is responsible for providing instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, administrators, and support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and goals.
• Ensure all state and federal regulations related to special education are adhered to.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid teaching license in Special Education.
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbances, or other significant disabilities.
