About the role

The role requires a strong background in special education, specifically for students with autism spectrum disorders. The teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on IEPs
  • Provide small group and one-on-one instruction
  • Collaborate with other special education teachers, classroom teachers, and related service providers to support student learning
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

  • Valid teaching license/credential
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching students with autism

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
