About the role

This position is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school staff to support student learning.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
• A valid teaching certificate in Special Education.
• At least two years of full-time teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disturbances, or other severe disabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Proficiency in using assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Experience with data collection and analysis tools.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule
