About the role

This position is for a Special Education Generalist in a Self-contained classroom at LAS VEGAS-SUNRISE MOUNTAIN HS.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students with autism spectrum disorder in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to develop and implement effective educational plans.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development activities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• A valid teaching license in Special Education.
• At least two years of experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder.
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Ability to manage a diverse classroom and adapt to individual student needs.

Skills

• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and best practices for supporting students with these conditions.
• Proficiency in using data-driven decision-making to inform instruction and assessment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.

Pay

Salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 annually.
