About the role

The Autism Teacher position at North Las Vegas-Swainston, Theron MS is dedicated to providing educational support to students with autism spectrum disorders. The role involves creating individualized education plans, implementing evidence-based teaching strategies, and collaborating with other professionals to enhance student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
• Provide direct instruction and support in areas such as social skills, communication, and academic subjects.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other specialists to ensure consistent and effective support for students.
• Evaluate student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in special education.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current certification as an Autism Specialist or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
• Knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals and families.
