About the role

This position is for a Special Education Generalist in a self-contained classroom setting at PALO VERDE HS in LAS VEGAS-PALO VERDE HS. The position requires a strong commitment to supporting students with autism spectrum disorders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and support staff to provide a comprehensive educational program.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education services.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching certificate in Special Education.
• At least two years of successful teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective strategies for supporting students with these conditions.

• Ability to manage a classroom of students with varying needs and abilities.

Pay
