Stores incoming stock

• Fills departmental requisitions accurately and promptly
• Stocks carts, patient charge and non-charge carts as scheduled
• Stocks IV solutions
• Distributes items to designated departments
• Performs inventory control procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) months of distribution experience preferred

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates hand-held devices to stock supply carts and patient charge and non-charge carts
• Verifies items with receiving tickets and identifies discrepancies
• Notifies supply coordinator of stock outs and overstocks
• Plays charge stickers on appropriate items
• Rotates stock to ensure timely usage of dated sterile supplies
• Removes items with expired sterility dates and notifies coordinator for proper crediting
• Cleans carts, work area, and shelves regularly to maintain an orderly storeroom
• Operates moving equipment, carts, pilot jack, and compactor
• Answers phone requests professionally and takes appropriate action in a timely manner
• Answers STAT requests immediately
• Performs computer entries with high accuracy
• Performs inventory counts as scheduled and quarterly physical inventory
• Uses good judgment in problem-solving when handling stock outages and unusual requests
• Attends necessary meetings and inservices to meet educational requirements and for communication
• Assembles packs for OB Department and IV Packs for all Nursing Units on a routine basis
• Operates sealers to complete packs
• Transfers information from handheld to computer for filling orders
• Responsible for CPD during the Night Shift (11-7) sending equipment and supplies to the Nursing Units
• Supply Laundry supplies to Nursing Units on the Night Shift (11-7)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk short distances for eight or more hours
• Frequent bending, stooping, or stretching
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Working Environment

• Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues, and maintains a safe environment

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic computer inputting
• Effective reading and comprehensive skills
