About the role

You will manufacture plywood—the foundational material for walls, roofs, and floors in residential construction. By producing the core structure of homes, you directly contribute to creating safe and secure living environments.

Responsibilities

• Slicing: Load logs into specialized machines to slice them into thin sheets. Neatly stack the sliced sheets and prepare them for the next process.
• Drying: Place sheets into drying machines to remove excess moisture. Visually inspect each sheet after drying to ensure they are not warped or cracked.
• Adhesion & Finishing: Apply adhesive to sheets, layer multiple sheets, and press them into sturdy plywood. Assist in fine-tuning the position of sheets to ensure smooth machine operation.
• General support tasks: Perform light manual tasks to address areas machines cannot handle, and monitor the production line to ensure normal operation.

Work Environment

• You will handle wooden sheets, so the workspace has a natural wood scent.
• Product sizes vary (e.g., 0.91m × 2.43m, 0.91m × 1.82m), with weights ranging from 4kg to 15kg per sheet.
• While the workspace can get warm in summer, spot coolers are used for heat mitigation.
• Video tours of the work environment and processes are available during interviews.

Training & Experience

• No prior experience required—full training is provided.
• Approximately one month is needed to become proficient in the tasks.
• Manufacturing or shift-work experience is a plus but not required.
• Employees in their 20s to late 40s, both men and women, are actively working in this role.
