1st Shift Temper Operator – $22.09/hour

Schedule

• Training: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
• Post-training: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 4:30pm

$22.09 – $23.21 per hour

About the Role

As a Temper Operator at Stanley Black & Decker in East Longmeadow, MA, you’ll set up, load, and unload nitrogen, steam, and air tempering furnaces to prescribed specifications. You’ll also transport in-process and finished goods throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

• Obtain in-process materials from various heat treating areas and verify specifications on tickets/travelers.
• Load material into tempering fixtures and place into furnaces using an overhead hoist.
• Set up and load appropriate programs for material tempering per ISO standards; complete and attach temper tickets; verify and sign off on run charts.
• Perform SAP transactions and diagnose/address operating problems.
• Pick up and move in-process and finished goods to designated areas; visually inspect products for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain production/TPM records and report unusual conditions or defective materials to supervisors.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and machinery clean and orderly; follow all safety rules and practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers.
• Ability to process SAP transactions.
• Certified forklift and power truck operator.
• Light physical effort required (lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds).
