1st Shift Sr. Foundry Scheduler (Dept 840)

Summary

Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial and Marine products in the Foundry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation in the Foundry to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
• Analyzes production specifications and Foundry capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine Foundry processes, tools, and human resource requirements
• Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
• Plans sequence of Patterns, Molding, Cores, and other foundry operations for guidance of production workers
• Confers with department supervisors to determine status and understanding of assigned projects
• Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
• Prepares production reports
• Prepares lists of required materials
• Tracks pieces shipped versus pieces made to help in maintaining one of the KPI'S for the foundry
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Must be able to work with basic software tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, and email

• Regularly required to sit and talk or hear
• Occasionally required to stand and walk
