Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Shipping & Receiving activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on department processes and procedures.
- Train new and existing Shipping & Receiving Associates on system procedures and usage.
- Assign and monitor tasks for Shipping & Receiving Associates and warehouse staff to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Evaluate workflow and recommend enhancements to increase productivity.
- Promote operational efficiency through coaching and guidance.
- Lead by example in promoting teamwork, safety, and attention to detail.
- Communicate information accurately between departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Support supervisors in enforcing company policies and maintaining productivity standards.
- Create and maintain a rotating schedule to ensure consistent coverage across the Welcome Center and Departure Center.
- Plan and adjust schedules to accommodate vacation coverage and unexpected absences while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Communicate schedule updates promptly to team members and supervision.
- Monitor attendance and proactively identify potential coverage gaps.
- Work on alternate or flex schedule as needed to provide coverage for unexpected call-offs, vacation absences, and other staffing gaps.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Shipping & Receiving Associate; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Attention to detail and effective communication, vision, and hearing for safety and productivity.
- Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other essential warehouse equipment.
- Additional work hours may be requested by management to help manage employee production, projects, or special events.
- Operate a registered motor vehicle if part of daily tasks.
- Engage in frequent personal interaction and communication.
- Strong arithmetic and reading skills.
- Follow verbal instructions, written instructions, and company policies.
- Be a self-starter, able to work independently and coordinate with others.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and meeting productivity guidelines.
- May require physical effort associated with using the computer, standing, walking, using stairs, and lifting needed for everyday activities.
Additional Duties
- Maintain a professional demeanor in appearance and communications at all times.
- Participate in staff and/or customer meetings as required.
- Take initiative to prevent non-conformities related to product, process, and quality systems.
- Identify and report any issues related to product, processes, and/or quality.
- Propose and implement solutions through appropriate channels.
- Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
- Participate in safety and educational training programs.
