1st Shift Receiver NP

About the Role

As a Receiver/Loader at SanMar, you will unload and load incoming and outgoing trailers following standard operating procedures (SOP), which may include sorting, palletizing, and moving product.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load product by following standard operating procedures.
• Use electric Power Jack to move pallets and/or product as needed.
• Maintain a positive, supportive attitude toward the Company, job, customers, and co-workers.
• Meet minimum standards, accuracy standards, and delivery deadlines.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and clean work area by adhering to SanMar safety regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and identify colors, sizes, quantity, label, and SKU information.
• Basic math skills in counting and quantity required.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a high-demand, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
• Able to work both independently and within a team.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comprehends verbal and written instructions.
• Essential days or overtime may be required.
• May need to complete and maintain SanMar’s Lift Operator Certification every three years.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The role involves:

• Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 60 pounds.
• Operating powered equipment requiring use of both hands and full range of motion of the neck, head, and back.
• Frequently reaching with hands and arms, grasping, and performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
• Frequently climbing stairs, kneeling/squatting, bending, and carrying.
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Wearing a headset covering one or both ears and Personal Protective Equipment such as a protective harness while operating equipment.
• Basic English literacy for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork.

The work environment is moderately noisy and may involve:

• Working near conveyor systems.
• Exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions.
• Typical warehouse conditions with potential hazards from machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and mechanized systems.
• A hectic and fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to ambient lighting, extreme heat, and extreme cold, including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
