1st Shift Quality Inspector

Job Summary

Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

Essential Functions

• Perform the receiving inspection activities in compliance with company workmanship standards
• Control incoming, in-process, and final inspection
• Examine items for defects in material, work, and damage occurring between departments
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data
• Work with engineers, quality personnel, and others as required
• Keep area clean and organized
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Acknowledge or reject items and records’ inspections information
• Inspect outgoing production line parts and materials
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to interpret blueprints
• Computer skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Flexibility based on shop production schedules
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way
• Basic Math and some Geometry

Environmental Conditions

• Humidity level may be elevated during summer months
• Exposure to moderate noise level

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
• Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day
• Able to use dial or digital calipers
