1st Shift Production Lead - Injection Molding

Responsibilities

• Participate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions, and abide by corporate and local policies.
• Actively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques, including kaizen events, 5S activities, and continuous improvement in the work area.
• Work with the Production Supervisor and other Leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to meet customer demand and production schedules.
• Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure procedures are followed and quality requirements are met.
• Report problems or concerns related to quality, processes, equipment, material, and labor to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Provide daily job status information to the Manufacturing Supervisor for the 9:00 a.m. production meeting.
• Work from drawings, sketches, and specifications to complete various machining operations, including machine setups to achieve close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
• Update and monitor Production Status boards.
• Attend and contribute to Tier board meetings.
• Collaborate with other departments—such as Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering—to resolve issues.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-5+ years of shop experience as a machinist.
• Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading, and GD&T is preferred.

Working Conditions

• Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently.
• Periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items may be required.
• Requires good hand/eye coordination.
• Exposure to a normal machine shop environment with periodic noise.
• Limited disagreeable factors present; illness or injury from materials in the working environment is unlikely.
• PPE required includes safety glasses, safety footwear, and may require hearing protection in certain areas.

This position is located in Pearland, TX.
