1st Shift Maintenance Technician

Our High Point, North Carolina facility is a non-union manufacturing plant with approximately 55 employees, specializing in polyurethane foam and other foam products. The site emphasizes quality, safety, and operational excellence in a collaborative environment.

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment, systems, and infrastructure. This role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime while supporting production goals and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements to prevent equipment failures.
• Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions using diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical knowledge.
• Fix or replace defective mechanical components such as bearings, belts, gears, pumps, and motors.
• Ensure machines operate safely and efficiently to support continuous production.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to guide repairs and installations.
• Assemble, align, and calibrate new machinery or mechanical systems.
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety compliance and potential hazards.
• Track parts usage, request replacements, and maintain tools in proper working condition.
• Record repairs, parts used, downtime, and maintenance history in logs or CMMS systems.
• Communicate equipment status, coordinate repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical school or vocational training.
