Job Summary

About the role

This position performs general to intermediate level maintenance duties required for the Milford facilities. The deliverable is a safe and high level of operation for all equipment functions.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed on breakdowns and project work.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive way with a variety of personnel (management, office, contractors, factory, etc.).
  • Responsible for maintaining a high safety standard throughout the plant (preventative and predictive maintenance, repairs and improvements).
  • Ability to understand the principles and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic equipment within the factory (presses, shears, laser, overhead crane, electrical systems, air lines, water lines, etc.).
  • Ability to perform the following processes: Welding (Mig., Stick), plasma cutting, and torch.
  • Ability to understand and safely follow the Arc Flash plant requirements.
  • Ability to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment within facility, which includes all applicable record keeping.
  • Training and in-house certification required for in-house spill prevention/countermeasures.
  • Occasionally required to train other technicians.
  • Responsible for 5S and organization of maintenance work area.
  • Ability to understand and implement hazard and non-hazard waste storage and labels.
  • Capable of designing and installing basic to intermediate machine guarding systems.
  • Responsible for following plant safety programs (lockout/tagout, etc.).
  • Ability to gain knowledge and identify general safety issues within the workplace.
  • Must be willing to participate and interact on appropriate plant improvement committees.
  • Must be able to perform all physical requirements.

Requirements

  • Education: High school degree or GED or equivalent factory experience.
  • Experience: Candidate must possess the following: Prior factory and maintenance experience required.
  • Minimum Required Qualifications: Education and experience as outlined above.

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and do basic math in English.
  • Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical prints and schematics.
  • General to intermediate understanding in the maintenance fields of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC.
  • CTB’s sponsored Maintenance Training Program (2 to 4 years – Mechanical and Electrical Industrial Degree Programs).
  • CNC and CAD/CAM certification helpful.
  • PLC and Robotic training helpful.
  • Forklift license and overhead crane license required.
  • Good knowledge of safe rigging principles.
  • Ability to operate scissor lift and articulating (boom) lift.
  • Ability to work with a computer (Excel – Word – Maintenance software).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities (self-starter).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Benefits

Working in a manufacturing environment that can be hot, noisy, oily/grease and dusty at times. Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot and humid in the summer and very cold in the winter). PPE required (such as long pants and shirts (100% cotton), steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, harness, hearing protection, gloves, welding PPE, arc flash PPE, air respirator). Working on wet surfaces (preventative maintenance in wash bay). Must work at heights at times with fall protection. Must be willing to work in tight spaces at times.
