About the Role
We’re hiring a Laborer/Assembler at our Aquamine Facility. You’ll be responsible for material handling, shipping and receiving activities, and the assembly and fabrication of PVC and CPVC valve products.
Employees must be willing to work in excess of 8 hours in one shift as business conditions require it. Employees must be willing and available to work weekends on an ongoing basis if needed. Overtime will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week.
Responsibilities
- Follow directions and adhere to all safety and work instructions.
- Ensure production meets Victaulic’s established quality standards.
- Work effectively with others and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Safely operate PIVs (Powered Industrial Vehicles such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, and walk-behind stackers), industrial wrappers, and jib hoists.
- Safely load and unload trucks.
- Follow established work instructions and standard operating procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail with the ability to consistently identify products and product defects.
- Maintain work areas, tools, and materials in a clean and organized condition and return materials to designated locations after use.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines and participate in continuous improvement, quality, safety, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Report immediately to your supervisor any injury, unsafe act or condition, or any failure or impending failure of plant equipment.
- Perform all “5S” Daily Requirements and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, labels, and production instructions.
- Complete all required paperwork, documentation, record keeping, and inventory accurately and legibly.
- Communicate immediately any unsafe conditions or non-conforming raw materials or products.
- Gather necessary products and materials accurately for all customer orders assigned.
- Assemble valves using mechanical assembly methods and/or solvent welding processes.
- Meet established productivity, quality, and safety expectations.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, shipping paperwork, and production documentation.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic measuring devices.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience operating pallet jacks and material handling equipment preferred.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Working Conditions
- Work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Lift up to 40 lbs, generally 5-40 lbs.
- Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing.
- May be required to work on weekends, overtime, or different shifts.
- Wear personal protective equipment at all times such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc.

Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $19.50 per hour. This role may also be eligible for shift differentials and overtime pay.
