About the role
Join Quad’s Chemical Research & Technology (CR/T) team in Hartford, where we manufacture the resins and inks that power our printing operations nationwide. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in keeping our chemical processing equipment running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and processing systems
- Work on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, augers, pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime
- Install new equipment and support facility improvement projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings
- Partner with operations teams to keep production running safely and efficiently
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety standards
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field or 5+ years of mechanical experience
- Experience rebuilding rotary vane pumps
- Strong skills in pipe fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and blueprint reading
- Familiarity with metric measurements and mechanical tolerances
- Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety protocols
- Able to work at heights and operate high-lift equipment
- Must have or be willing to acquire basic hand tools
- Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive hand/wrist movements
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with ink or chemical processing equipment is a plus

$28.00–$32.00/hr (based on experience)
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts + overtime as needed
