Position Overview
AST SpaceMobile is seeking reliable Facilities Maintenance Technicians to support facility operations in Midland, TX. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. The position requires a strong focus on preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and adherence to safety standards. Candidates should be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and support operational needs in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $20/hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Perform general maintenance, service, and repair of company facilities and equipment
- Maintain interior and exterior property, including grounds and common areas
- Complete assigned maintenance projects in accordance with company standards and specifications
- Repair and replace building components such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, fixtures, and finishes
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify unsafe conditions and perform preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and structural issues
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Follow all safety procedures and practice safe work habits in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (subject to periodic checks)
- Minimum of 1 year of related maintenance experience (3+ years preferred)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or building systems
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience with basic tools and maintenance equipment
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks as required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks
- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to perform job duties
- Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing
- Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling
- Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 35 pounds as required
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment
- Ability to work in and around tight or confined spaces
- Ability to type up to 8-12 hours per day
- Reading, identifying colors of labels or signage
- Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber)
