1st Class Pipefitter

CTR Group is seeking experienced 1st Class Pipefitters for a shipyard in the Pascagoula, MS area. Former or recent Navy personnel, especially Hull Technicians, are ideal candidates.

Pay

$48 per hour plus benefits. Non-local candidates receive an additional $180 per diem.

Requirements

• Demonstrate proficiency and competency for an A-Class Pipefitter position.
• Ability to interpret and work from construction drawings, job specifications, instruction manuals, manufacturer’s handbooks, change orders, and contract specifications.
• Pass the “A” Class pipefitter tests: written (minimum 70% score) and practical (minimum 90% score).
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and measure using the metric system.
• Follow directions and work with limited supervision; willingness to develop other team members' skill levels.
• Working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude, and ability to follow directions.
• Experience in the trade, knowledge of ship terminology, and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret job specifications and perform work on marine vessels.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and tour all vessels and work sites.
