1st Assistant -1st Shift

About the role

As a 1st Assistant at Pratt Industries – Cedar Hill, you will support operators on production presses by assisting with setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements. You'll monitor material quality, ensure safety and efficiency, and help optimize production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Maintain product quality, including board quality, and address any defects or issues that arise.
• Aid the machine operator to ensure smooth machine operations, report quality problems, and help optimize the production schedule.
• Cross-train on different machines and equipment as needed, potentially moving into operator roles.
• Complete reports in a timely manner and submit maintenance work orders for repairs as necessary.
• Collaborate with others to meet production goals and adapt to changing needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in the Corrugating industry and 6 months' experience in a similar role is beneficial.
• Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve minor malfunctions.
• Strong understanding of equipment design, quality standards, and product specifications.
• Ability to use measuring tools and perform calculations for various metrics.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, and performing other physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Specific vision abilities required for the job.
• Lift Truck Operator License may be required.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
