About the role

The position is at Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School in Kitimat, BC. It is a Continuing, Full-Time (1.00 FTE) position for Woodwork 9-12, Metalwork 9-12, and Other Teachers starting September 1, 2026.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for).
• Experience teaching students at all grade levels.
• Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
• Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to relate well with students, parents, and staff members.
• Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.

Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Interested applicants must supply a cover letter, resume, three (3) professional references, verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate), or eligibility to obtain, and a Teacher Qualification Card.

Benefits

• Salary as per collective agreement, current salary grid is $63,513 - $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE).
• $1,000 - $5,000 relocation allowances for teachers from other areas (conditions may apply).
• $3,500 Recruitment and Retention allowance for all teachers (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on FTE).
• Isolation Allowance for remote communities: Hazelton - $1,287, Kitwanga - $1,528, Stewart - $4,824 (paid over 10 months of the school year).
• Benefits as per the collective agreement with options to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance.

Pay

Salary as per collective agreement, current salary grid is $63,513 - $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE).
