About the role
We are seeking a Principal Engineer to support Guidance/Navigation/Control (GNC) efforts for the development of missile systems, aiding the Army (DEVCOM AvMC) with critical technology development.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in the development and enhancement of Autopilot, Guidance, and Navigation algorithms.
- Support 6-DOF Simulation development, including integrating various models and inputs.
- Perform performance verification of 6-DOF simulations by analyzing Monte-Carlo data sets and Frequency Response to identify performance metrics.
- Design and understand Trade Studies to assess performance metrics.
- Support assessment of Flight Test data.
- Work independently as well as part of a team.
- Present findings to government customers.
Requirements
- M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering or a relevant engineering field.
- Mid-level candidates with 10 or more years of related experience are preferred.
- Experience with C/C++, Python, Matlab, and Linux.
- Experience with physics-based modeling of missile systems is required.
- Some understanding of Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) is desired.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must currently possess and be able to maintain an active security clearance.
