About the role

We are looking for an experienced B2B contractor to perform LiDAR and 360° mapping in California. The role involves traveling to different locations within the state, with fuel and accommodation expenses covered.

Responsibilities

• Perform field‑based geospatial data collection using a LiDAR system.
• Travel to various sites across California and temporarily relocate as needed.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate the LiDAR system (drone‑, vehicle‑, or pedestrian‑based) to ensure high‑quality data.
• Optionally use a provided 360° camera to capture complementary imagery.

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with LiDAR systems and own equipment that meets project requirements.
• Strong knowledge of LiDAR system setup, calibration, and operation.
• Experience with surveying or geospatial data collection.
• Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate within California.
• Availability to work with field equipment throughout the project.
• For drone‑based setups: valid US drone pilot license and proven piloting skills.
• For vehicle‑based setups: proven experience with vehicle‑mounted LiDAR (vehicle may be owned or rented).
• For pedestrian‑based setups: expertise with pedestrian LiDAR systems.
• Preference for LiDAR setup that includes GNSS and IMU for accurate positioning.
