116-11 Direct Support Professional

Part-time: 32 Hours | Salary: $17.50–$19.00 | Sign-on Bonus: $500 for Part-time employees

About the role

Venture Community Services provides support to individuals facing diverse challenges through a compassionate and dedicated workforce using innovative practices that encourage independence, empowerment, and opportunity. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can.

Responsibilities

• Assist with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, community outings, and activities.
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals.
• Follow medical guidelines and safely evacuate individuals from the home in an emergency.
• Maintain certifications and comply with Agency policies and DDS regulations.

Requirements

• 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, overnights, or double-shifts.

• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school history).
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.

Training & Support

• Paid New Employee Orientation.
• Paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP).
• Program- and person-specific training at the individual’s home.

Schedule

• Wednesday 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Thursday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Friday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Sunday 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
