About the Role

Venture Community Services provides support to individuals facing diverse challenges through a compassionate and dedicated workforce using innovative practices that encourage independence, empowerment, and opportunity. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) advocates for and supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them lead active, fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene tasks such as teeth brushing.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, and community outings.
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and other medical guidelines.
• Support individuals in becoming active members of their community.
• Safely evacuate individuals from the home in case of an emergency.
• Maintain required certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations.
• Participate in paid New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) training, as well as person‑specific training at the individuals’ home.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, overnights, or double shifts, to meet program and individual needs.

Pay

Hourly rate: $17.50 – $19.00 per hour. Paid training provided by Venture.

Schedule

Full‑time, 12 hours per week: Sunday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (flexible schedule may include additional shifts as needed).
