About the role

Barcel USA, a leader in the snack food industry, is seeking a People Generalist (HRG) to champion people, diversity, and inclusion. This role supports Plant Managers, local leadership, and hourly associates across three shifts, delivering best-in-class HR services to enhance effectiveness in our bakeries. The HRG will act as a change agent, business partner, and influencer, linking business objectives to organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Administration: Assist in managing headcount, turnover, exit interviews, and HR invoice processing. Maintain current job descriptions as positions evolve.
  • Associate Learning & Development: Support new associate orientation, HR-related training (e.g., GB Leader, Diversity and Inclusion, Labor Relations, Respect in the Workplace), safety orientation, and training needs assessments.
  • Associate Programs: Support annual Benefits Open Enrollment, Safety Perception surveys, Pulse quarterly surveys, and respond to associate HR inquiries.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries, address concerns, and promote a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Compliance & Legal Support: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, maintain accurate employee records, and assist with audits.
  • OSHA Compliance & Safety: Maintain a safe work environment, report workplace injuries/incidents, support safety training, and conduct safety audits.
  • ADA Compliance & Accommodation: Assist with ADA compliance and reasonable accommodation processes for employees with disabilities.
  • Centralized Recruiting: Support recruitment for salaried and hourly positions, deliver onboarding programs, and drive retention of top talent.
  • HR/Organization Consulting: Coach on E4 Behaviors, facilitate change management, and support Manufacturing Transformation goals. Maintain HR files and I-9 compliance.
  • Performance Management: Partner with managers on staffing, hiring, performance, safety, and attendance concerns. Lead annual merit and performance reviews.
  • Systems: Manage HRIS audits, requisitions, and HR metrics reporting. Recommend improvements based on trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of progressive HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Labor Relations experience highly desired.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, creative thinking, and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
