About the role

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising and supporting the direction and planning of associates' daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, ensuring optimal customer experiences, and maintaining brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • 30% Brand: Supervise and support the direction and planning of associates’ daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience which maximizes sales/KPIs and drives customer loyalty in assigned stores. Ensure all brand standards are met such as merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Resolve customer issues and concerns. Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands.

  • 30% People: Engage, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results. Recruit and build a strong network of external candidates to fill positions when required. Identify strengths and opportunities for each associate and address them through coaching or counseling. Hold team accountable to Company policies and expectations. Maintain positive associate relations by resolving concerns and keeping associates informed of relevant Company information. Build strong relationships with Store Manager peers. Maintain consistent and timely communication with AM/DM. Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

  • 30% Operations: Ensure execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Utilize digital strategies such as Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS). Manage inventory through ordering and shipment processing. Manage payroll hours to meet business needs and schedule appropriately. Ensure correct store opening and closing procedures. Follow through on Company directives, assignments, and projects.

  • 10% Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensure the store environment is safe at all times for associates and customers. Protect company assets by following inventory and cash control procedures related to shrink, damages, banking, etc. Analyze and utilize available reporting, tools, and technology. Ensure stores are compliant with HAZMAT training and execution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred

  • At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred

  • Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives

  • Effective communication with team and management

  • Scheduling availability to meet business needs

  • Cosmetology license desirable, but not required
