1.0FTE Teaching Assistant (Elementary)

Silver Creek Central School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Elementary School team for the upcoming school year.

About the role

The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction of the classroom teacher to reinforce instruction, support the implementation of curriculum, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment for elementary students. This role is central to ensuring individualized support reaches students who need it most.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce classroom instruction and assist in implementing curriculum under the direction of the certified teacher
• Support the adaptation and modification of lessons and materials to meet individual student needs
• Help maintain a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and specialists as part of an instructional team
• Assist with small group and one-on-one instruction as directed
• Provide support across a variety of classroom and school settings as needed

Requirements

• Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certificate, or NYS Certification in Birth-Grade 2 / Grades 1-6
• Working knowledge of the Core Standards
• Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Flexibility and comfort working in a variety of instructional settings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay

$25,900 per year
