Elementary School Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in leading instruction, including large group, small group, and individual sessions.
• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned hands-on projects in math, reading, science, and language arts, with a focus on STEM, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
• Support instruction by leading small groups to answer questions and assist in teaching parts of the lesson.
• Accompany students to recess, lunch, and electives.
• Prepare materials for future lessons or events and assist with record keeping.
• Collaborate with staff to enhance instruction and engage parents/guardians.
• Help students develop effective use of technology and build digital literacy skills and knowledge.
• Create and maintain a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning time.
• Manage student behavior and address concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
