1.0 FTE LTS Kindergarten Teacher

About the Role

East Aurora Union Free School District is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for a 1.0 FTE long-term substitute position for the full school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time kindergarten instruction for the duration of the substitute assignment
• Develop and deliver lessons aligned with district curriculum and learning standards
• Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that supports early childhood development
• Assess student progress and maintain appropriate records
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student success
• Uphold the district's non-negotiable values: Learning Excellence, Effective Communication, Respectful Relationships, and Continuous Improvement

Requirements

• Valid New York State teaching certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2) or Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) with appropriate extensions
• Experience or demonstrated ability to teach at the kindergarten level
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom

• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to engage young learners through developmentally appropriate practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Pay

• Per diem rate according to the East Aurora Teachers Association contract based on experience and education level

Schedule

• 1.0 FTE (full-time), long-term substitute for the full school year
