About the Role
The Sexual Offender Rehabilitation and Treatment Services (SORTS) unit at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is seeking energetic, caring, and enthusiastic individuals to join the team providing specialized services to intellectually disabled forensic clients as Food Service Assistants. This is an entry level dietary position.
Responsibilities
- Serves food to patients and staff in accordance with established dietary guidelines and policies.
- Operates and assures sanitation of food service equipment including steam tables, refrigerators, dish washing machines, microwaves, mile machines, etc.
- Maintains temperatures within prescribed limits of stored foods, serving line foods, and sanitation equipment.
- Cleans and sanitizes serving and dining areas using mops, brooms, and buffers.
- Moves dining room furniture and serving equipment to facilitate through cleaning.
- Transports food from preparation area to serving areas using trucks, hot carts, and food carts.
- Knows and understands procedures for use of hazardous chemicals in compliance with material safety data sheets and supervisor’s instructions.
- Attends work according to facility policies and works overtime or other shifts in order to assure adequate staff coverage.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: 0-1 year of work experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.) Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
