About the role

The Color & Curl Concierge / Colour & Curl Specialist is a key position in our team, focusing on color and texture expertise, customer service, and product education.

Responsibilities

  • Determine customer color and care needs and offer professional advice and recommendations.
  • Communicate with customers, associates, and vendors regarding calls, visits, orders, and sales progress.
  • Ensure customer concerns and questions are resolved promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain a high standard of color and curl merchandising and display techniques.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and adapt sales techniques accordingly.
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures, including making bank deposits and handling cash transactions.
  • Adhere to CosmoProf/BSG Culture Values and company code of ethics.

Requirements

  • One year retail or sales experience.
  • Licensed cosmetologist in US and Canada preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for store and market service.
  • Ability to travel for shows and sales meetings up to 3 times per year.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interpret and act on sales reporting.
  • Working knowledge of retail sales, inventory control, and visual merchandising.
  • Comprehensive computer skills, including familiarity with POS applications.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive interaction with the public.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of color and curl products and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Pass Color Certification Test within 60 days of hire.

Experience and Skills Required

  • One year retail or other sales-focused experience.
  • Licensed cosmetologist highly preferred in US and Canada.
  • Reliable transportation to effectively serve designated store and market.
  • Ability to travel to shows and/or sales meetings a minimum of 3 times a year.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to read, interpret, and act on pertinent sales reporting.
  • Working knowledge of retail sales, inventory control systems, and visual merchandising.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computers, iPads, mobile devices, and social media platforms.
  • Commitment to working scheduled hours and flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to present a professional image and interact positively with the public.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Must pass Color Certification Test within 60 days of hire to remain in position.
