The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is seeking Security Support Care Assistants to join one of their innovative nursing service teams. This position is in a high security setting for mentally ill forensic clients.

General Job Information

• Accountable for assisting clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks.
• Assists in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; reports on the condition of clients; and participates in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers.
• May prepare and administer medication under the direction of a professional nurse, as a Certified Medication Technician.
• May perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting. May be responsible for medication distribution.

Minimum Qualifications

• MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE CMT LICENSE
• Knowledge of elementary behavior modification techniques, medical terminology, and drug classifications.
• Ability to prepare and maintain records, charts, and reports.

Typical Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
